Investment Philosophy
Income
For the majority of Boston Private Wealth's clients, income is of paramount importance. Consequently, regularity and reliability of income makes up a core component of our approach to investment portfolios. Where possible, we try to deliver surplus income to requirement, to ensure that our clients can readily meet any unexpected needs. Most importantly, we aim to ensure that clients can comfortably live on the income from their portfolios without drawing down on their capital.
Growth
Irrespective of age, we strive to deliver growth to our clients. For those that are retired, the growth component of their portfolios may only be required to keep up with inflation, whereas for clients who are still accumulating, growth may be major focus.
Boston Private Wealth tailors portfolios to encompass both the aspects of growth and income to meet our client’s objectives regarding total returns. We firmly believe in matching client’s needs and objectives to their investment portfolios, taking into consideration their risk appetite and understanding of the investment markets.
Asset Allocation
Boston Private Wealth uses both Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation strategies to assist in lowering portfolio volatility whilst producing regular and reliable returns. We will implement and monitor your asset allocation based on a sound understanding of your current needs and concerns and your risk management profile.
Strategic Asset Allocation
For more conservative clients, a Strategic Asset Allocation approach may be most appropriate, which uses a fixed asset allocation regardless of the prevailing market conditions. This approach relies on the long term return of the specific asset classes.
Tactical Asset Allocation
Other clients my prefer a Tactical Asset Allocation which allows us to take advantage of market inefficiencies in asset pricing in the short-term, with the aim to enhance overall investment returns in the short run.
Tax Efficiency
Through government legislation around superannuation, tax efficiency has become easier to achieve in some parts of the wealth management process. Boston Private Wealth aims to produce portfolios that are highly tax efficient through strategically recommending that investments should be held within various structures to ensure maximum tax effectiveness. |
